The weekend of the Colchester Festival saw lots of rewarding results. In total we received 10 gold medals, 14 silver and 6 bronze. ALL the groups did fabulously coming 1^st in all of their sections!

Gala night at Colchester was an enjoyable and entertaining one. Our pupils performed outstandingly, winning awards and cups for the following:

Summer Schools are coming!

Summer School ‘10

Following the success of our last course we are pleased to announce that we are able to hold another Summer School during August this year, for Graham School of Dance pupils AND ALSO is open to other children too: the age range is aged 7 and above.

v VENUE…..GSD Studios, Part Millars 2, The Maltings, Southmill Rd, Bishop’s Stortford CM23 3DH

v WHEN … Tuesday 10^th August to Thursday 12^th August inclusive,

v TIME each day… 10.00am – 3.15pm (ish).

v TEACHERS… the Faculty is being finalised but will include our own teacher and Lynsey Britton,who has appeared extensively in London’s West End.

v CLASSES… will include Jazz & Modern, which will be familiar to some, but also new dance forms such as Street Dance, Commercial/Funky Jazz, as well as Drama, Singing and Musical Theatre workshops.

v PRESENTATION…. An informal presentation of work will take place on the last afternoon of the course;

v COST… the course cost is £75.00. Cheques should be made payable to Graham Dance Ltd and sent, along with the application form, to Judy Frost, at The Studios.

v LUNCH…. Pupils will be supervised whilst eating packed lunches brought from home; they should also bring plenty of drinks – nothing fizzy though.

Graham School of Dance T shirts are available to purchase for the Show of Work on the last day; if black jazz trousers are needed, please also see the Uniform desk for these too, or e mail judy.frost@ntlworld.com . We do hope pupils will be able to join us for a fun packed few days!

MINI Summer School ‘10

Following the request of many parents and friends, I am pleased to tell you that we are arranging a Mini Summer School this year, at The Studios. This will be for Graham School of Dance pupils AND ALSO is open to other children too: the age range is 4 – 7 years.

Ø TIME … 10.00am – 1.00pm

Ø TEACHERS… the Faculty is being finalised but the course will be run by Graham School of Dance teachers;

Ø CLASSES… will include Street Dance, Modern, Drama, and Musical Theatre.

Ø COST....… the course cost is £20.00. Cheques should be made payable to Graham Dance Ltd, and sent with the application form to Judy Frost, to secure a place for your child.

Places, for both Summer Schools are limited, and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis; pupils may purchase GSD T shirts if they wish (£10), and ideally black jazz trousers or joggers should be worn, with trainers or plimsolls.

We look forward to seeing many of your children at what we know will be a fun and action packed session…. and why not give yourselves a ‘holiday break’ for the morning?!

We will be running some fabulous events as follows:

4^th August

Mike Kent, (West End Performer – Hairspray), back by popular request, to run challenging and stimulating Commercial Jazz sessions.

18^th August

TKSpin (Hip Hop/House/ Locking), who teach regularly each week at Pineapple dance, London.

25^th August

Janet Devenish (tbc)- Deputy Principal at Stella Mann College, subject to availability, – a must for those auditioning in the next few years.
